It’s all about health and wellness, or is it? In this information age, we are bombarded daily with ads and informercials sharing the wonders of various supplements, phytochemicals, Vitamin A, the B vitamins, Vitamins C, D, and E, as well as fish oil, protein drinks, and exercise. The problems associated with gluten, food allergies, and issues with GMO’s are commonplace. The majority of American adults struggle to shed those pounds that crept up over the years. Additionally, in this fast-paced technology age more and more children find themselves inside, in front of a computer or television instead of playing outside and getting that much needed exercise. With fast-food as a staple and a sedentary lifestyle, childhood obesity is on the rise.
The Next Cigarette
It’s common knowledge that cigarette smoking is a major risk factor for lung cancer, cardiovascular disease, and a myriad of other life-threatening illnesses. According to the American Diabetes Association, sitting is the next “cigarette.” However, thanks to today’s technology, most people sit for a major portion of their work day.
